Providing for the Future through Insurance

Providing for the Future through Insurance
Excited about the leadership role Palmer College is taking and passionate for chiropractic, Dr. Kari Swain, Dav. '95, wants to make sure Palmer College remains strong in the future and students continue to receive a quality education.

Born and raised in Iowa, Dr. Swain was adjusted early in life and knew she wanted to become a chiropractor for as long as she can remember! In addition to practicing for 19 years in Altoona, Iowa, Dr. Swain presents all over the country on chiropractic. She is a Royal Chiropractic Knight of the Roundtable, a Fellow in the Palmer Academy of Chiropractic, and a member of the Palmer Presidents Club and Heritage Endowment Society, the ICA and ICS. She also dedicates time to Palmer students by speaking on Campus to student clubs and mentoring preceptorship students in her office. Married, with two children, Dr. Swain and her family live and embrace the Chiropractic wellness lifestyle.

"My dedication to Palmer runs deep. I have referred family, friends and patients to attend Palmer College," says Dr. Swain. "I'm committed to chiropractic and to my alma mater to continue to carry to torch and lead the way for the profession."

"Choosing a life insurance policy as a method to donate to Palmer is my way of leaving a legacy to the school I love and a profession I have dedicated my life to," Dr. Swain states. "The convenience of the life insurance vehicle fits well into the busy lifestyle of a full time doc, mother and wife."

There are a variety of charitable options for gifts of life insurance. An insurance policy which is no longer needed for its original purpose can be gifted to Palmer College or Palmer can be named as the beneficiary. Transferring a policy to fund a charitable remainder unitrust or a charitable gift annuity are additional options, both of which produce payments for life.

"In order for Chiropractic to continue to grow and thrive, we must all take responsibility to nurture this legacy by encouraging enrollment, mentoring, being a role model, and financial support." Dr. Swain continues, "These are all part of the debt of gratitude I will continue to pay to Palmer College and invite my fellow alum to do as well. We chiropractors have been bestowed a gift and must take responsibility for the future of this profession and Palmer College. An endowment gift allows me to keep that promise and help create my legacy."

Recruiting and mentoring students are the lifeblood of Palmer College, willingness to give of time and talents in support of the College and its students is greatly appreciated and financial commitment, both current and legacy gifts, is the ultimate gift which helps to secure the future of Palmer College. Palmer College is extremely grateful for all our alumni, like Dr. Swain, who give so graciously of their time and treasures.
